Musikfest, celebrated annually in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is recognized as the nation's largest free music festival, offering over 500 music and art performances across 10 days each August. Initiated in 1984 by the nonprofit ArtsQuest, it was aimed at revitalizing Bethlehem's Main Street area and providing access to the arts. Today, Musikfest is a pivotal event that generates significant economic activity in the Lehigh Valley, thanks to its community-run and community-supported framework. With its concerts being free and artists getting paid, every purchase at the festival supports year-round free programming, highlighting its community-centric approach.
2024 Dates: August 2-11, with a preview night on August 1.
